Last night we showed up at Rose Bay Run Club with a box full of new sunglasses and a simple idea: let runners actually try them. Not on a shelf. Not in a photo. On a run.
It was the biggest turnout Rose Bay Run Club has ever had. The energy was something else.
The Night
The crew at Rose Bay Run Club came out in force. Music playing, people warming up, the usual pre-run chaos, except this time there was also an ice bucket, jerky from The Ben Buckler, and sodas from Sippy Soda. Fuelled up and ready.
We numbered up the glasses, handed them out before the run kicked off, and let people go. Two lenses on the night, the Purity (polarised, high clarity, Revo coating) and the Protector (polycarbonate, impact resistant, built for durability). Both UV400.
There were a few PBs on the night, whether it was the glasses, the energy, or just a cracking evening for a run, we'll let you decide. Lots of laughs. Music pumping. An ice bucket that got more use than expected. And afterwards, vibes continued at Club Rose Bay, still buzzing, still talking. Exactly the kind of night you want to be part of.
What We Noticed
A few things came up that reinforced why we started this brand in the first place.
The biggest one: people forgot they were wearing them. That's the goal. Sunglasses that disappear on your face so you can focus on the run. When someone hands them back and says "I didn't notice them at all", that's the whole point. We got a few other pieces of positive feedback that were new as well, an unusual favourite was "This was the first pair of running sunnies that did'nt get stuck in my hair." We'll take it.
We also had a few people who came in skeptical, the "I've tried running sunnies before and they bounce" or "they are too dark" crowd. Glad to say we converted all of them.
Thanks to Our Partners
Huge thanks to The Ben Buckler for the jerky, Sippy Soda for the drinks, and Bloc for the giveaway prizes alongside Re. The generosity made it a proper event, not just a run.
Why We Do This
Re. isn't a brand you should have to take someone's word on. The whole pitch: no bounce, no fog, designed for running...that's easy to say on a product page. It means something different when you've just run 5km in them and they haven't moved.
That's why activations like this matter. It's not about shifting units on the night. It's about getting the product in front of real runners, in real conditions, and letting them form their own opinion.
We're early. We're building. And we're doing it by showing up where runners are, not just posting at them.

If you were there last night you know. And if you weren't, come to the next one.

Tim Golubev
Founder, Re. (Re Your Run)
Tim built Re. after years of running in sunglasses that bounced, fogged, and ended up on his forehead. After discovering the UV damage that builds up without eye protection (even on cloudy days) and hearing the same frustrations from hundreds of other runners, he decided it was a problem worth fixing properly. With a background in Product across multiple industries, he approached it like any product problem: figure out what's broken, then build something that actually fixes it. He runs daily, co-founded Rose Bay Run Club, and Re. is his attempt to make one less thing that gets in the way of a good run.
