THE WHY — THE HEART BEHIND Re.

Sometimes one habit changes everything.

Running wasn’t meant to be complicated.
You lace up, step out the door, move forward physically, mentally, emotionally.

But running gear did become complicated: overpriced, over-marketed, under-engineered.

We built Re. to change that.

Not hype.
Not athlete-only branding.
Just eyewear built at a product standard runners deserve.

A small Aussie brand fueled by curiosity, engineering, and the joy of movement.

Our Philosophy

Movement is progress. Progress is perspective.

Re.set

Start with intention. Slow or fast, just begin.

Re.frame

Shift how you see your run, your routine, yourself.

Re.peat

Keep showing up, one kilometre at a time.

The focus

Lens quality matters most

Most sunglasses are built frame-first (usually a generic copy of what already exists in the market).

We flipped the process — lens first, always.

Because vision drives every decision your body makes when you run. Depth perception. Ground reading. Light management. Pace awareness. Clarity.

Its the lens that makes sunglasses so expensive.
Its the lens that goes over your eyes.
Its the lens that we need to focus on.

Better lens = better movement.

It's science, not marketing.

BEHIND THE BUILD

It started with hundreds of conversations.

Re. didn’t start in a boardroom.
It started on footpaths, trails, beaches, track loops and early mornings when most of the country was still asleep.

It started by asking runners questions, real runners, everyday runners:
“What hurts?”,
“What slips?”,
“What lenses make your eyes ache?”,
“What would make sunglasses actually better instead of just prettier?”

From there came hundreds of prototypes, test runs in rain and winter sun, and countless moments of “back to the drawing board.”

We found out that people didn’t just want sunnies that look fast.
They wanted sunglasses they could forget they were wearing, until they realised how much better their run felt.

We found out that people felt like they did'nt feel comfortable wearing $350 eyewear they saw elite athletes wearing. It made them feel like they don't belong- "I cant wear those, I only go on 5k runs."

We learned that community proof mattered more than hype ever did.

So we spent a year comparing coatings, testing lens transitions, measuring clarity under cloud cover, humidity, head sweat, trail shade, road glare, everything we could break, stretch or push.

Re. wasn’t built in one moment, it was built in thousands of small ones.

Runs. Learnings. Adjustments. Again and again.

Because progress happens through repetition.
Just like running.

"Re. isn't really about me, I am just a small part of a team of runners, product geeks, and designers who live and breathe the journey of progress...and building really cool stuff."

MEET THE FOUNDER

The Story Behind Re.

Hi, I’m Tim.
A product guy by profession, a painfully average runner by hobby, and one of the people behind Re.

I’ve spent over a decade building products and scaling companies, but none of those things ever felt mine.

Running was the constant thread through the noise, not because I was fast or elite, but because it made life feel lighter.

I love good gear, good design, good engineering, things built with purpose.
But the running sunglasses world felt like it skipped a step.

It felt like there were only two choices:
Overpriced athlete-only performance gear;
Or cheap, fashion-first sunnies that didn’t protect you from the sun or the run.

So I found a team that could build what I couldn’t find.

Re. grew out of curiosity, community, and trial, powered by the input of runners who cared enough to help us shape every detail.

Some helped for days, some for months, some for years. Every one of them left fingerprints on what Re. is today.

Now we’re pushing forward.
Still building. Still learning.

Still running this experiment in public, openly, imperfectly, proudly.

Re. is product-first. Always will be.

If you’re here, you’re part of that story now.
