Every Re. frame shares the same foundation: UV400 protection, Revo-coated lenses, anti-fog ventilation and no-bounce fit. The differences come down to weight, fit style, lens darkness and coverage. Here is how each one stacks up.
Re.balance: The All-Rounder
At 20g, Re.balance is the lightest frame in the lineup and the one Re. positions as the all-rounder. The design prioritises a relaxed yet secure fit with balanced geometry, built for versatile everyday comfort whether you are doing daily training, racing or just wearing them around town.
The Protector lens sits at VLT 17%, handling bright Australian conditions while staying clear enough for overcast mornings. Re.balance uses soft, fixed nose pads rather than adjustable ones, which keeps the frame streamlined and light.
Where Re.balance stands out beyond weight is lens variety. It is available in more Revo colour options than any other frame, including Purity (Pink and Blue) alongside Protector, Adaptor (Light) and Infinity. If you want one frame that does everything, Re.balance is the starting point.
The trade-off: Re.balance does not include a prescription insert, so prescription runners will want to look at the other three frames.
Pick Re.balance if: you want a versatile all-rounder that handles daily runs, races and casual wear. Lightest frame, most colour options, and a fit that works across the board.
Re.flex: The Flexible Performer
Re.flex is built around flexibility. The frame moves naturally with your body, making it a comfortable pick for runners who switch between road runs, gym sessions and everyday wear. At 21.5g it is lightweight without feeling flimsy, and the adjustable nose pad lets you dial in the fit to your face.
The Protector lens sits at VLT 17%, blocking enough light for bright Australian conditions while keeping things clear enough for overcast mornings. A prescription insert frame comes included for free, so runners who need corrective lenses do not have to pay extra or hunt for a compatible insert.
Re.flex is available in three lens options: Protector for bright, sunny runs, Adaptor (Light) for changing conditions, and Infinity for the full photochromic-plus-polarised package.
Pick Re.flex if: you want a frame that adapts to your movement. The flexible frame and adjustable nose pad make it a great choice for runners who cross over between running, gym and daily wear, or who need a prescription insert.
Re.glide: The Speed Frame
Re.glide is designed for bright conditions and high-intensity efforts. The frame stays locked in when pace increases, with strategic ventilation around the lenses and temples to keep airflow moving and fogging at bay during hard sessions.
At 27g it is the heaviest frame in the range, but that weight comes from an aerodynamic build designed for performance. The Protector lens drops to VLT 13%, darker than Re.flex and Re.balance, making it a better choice for consistently bright, high-sun conditions where glare reduction matters most.
Re.glide also gets the widest lens selection. It is one of only two frames (along with Re.silience) available with an Adaptor Clear lens, which goes fully transparent at VLT 83% in low light, as well as Adaptor Light, multiple Protector colours (Gold, Blue, Red), and Infinity. A prescription insert is included free.
Pick Re.glide if: you race, do interval sessions or push hard in the sun. The locked-in fit and ventilation are built for efforts where a looser frame would shift. If you also run in low light, the Adaptor Clear lens option gives Re.glide genuine dawn-to-dusk range. Good for runners thinking about wearing sunglasses for a marathon.
Re.silience: The Endurance and Trail Frame
Re.silience takes a different approach. It has the widest lens profile of any Re. frame, providing increased coverage that protects against wind, debris and harsh sunlight. That makes it the natural choice for trail running in Australia, long runs and mixed terrain where conditions are less predictable.
The frame sits at 24g with durable construction built to handle the demands of endurance running. Its Protector lens is the darkest in the range at VLT 11%, so it blocks more light than any other frame when conditions are consistently bright and exposed.
Like Re.glide, Re.silience is available with both Adaptor Clear and Adaptor Light lenses, giving trail runners a photochromic option that goes fully transparent for shaded sections and early starts. The lineup also includes Protector (Black Chrome), Purity (Orange) and Infinity. Prescription insert included free.
Pick Re.silience if: you run trails, log long distances or need maximum coverage from wind and debris. The wider lens profile and darkest Protector tint make it the go-to for runners in exposed, bright environments.
Which Lens Options Does Each Frame Get?
Not every lens is available on every frame. Here is a quick reference so you can match the right lens to the right frame. For a deeper breakdown of what each lens does, see the lens tint and colour guide.
| Lens | Re.flex | Re.balance | Re.glide | Re.silience |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Protector (Revo-coated) | Yes | Yes | Yes (Gold, Blue, Red) | Yes (Black Chrome) |
| Purity (Polarised) | No | Yes (Pink, Blue) | No | Yes (Orange) |
| Adaptor Light (VLT 70-15%) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Adaptor Clear (VLT 83-15%) | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Infinity (Photochromic + Polarised) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The big distinction: Adaptor Clear is only available on Re.glide and Re.silience. This lens goes fully transparent (VLT 83%) in low light, compared to Adaptor Light which goes near-clear (VLT 70%). If you need a single pair that works from pre-dawn to midday, Re.glide or Re.silience with Adaptor Clear gives you that range. For more on photochromic vs polarised lenses, we have a dedicated guide.
Which Frame Should You Pick?
Every runner has different priorities. Here are some common scenarios to help narrow it down.
The all-rounder. You run most days, a mix of easy runs and faster sessions, and want one pair that does everything. Re.balance is built for exactly this. Lightest frame at 20g, relaxed balanced fit, and the widest range of Revo colour options. It handles daily training, racing and casual wear without fuss.
The gym crossover runner. You split time between road runs, gym sessions and everyday wear, and want a frame that moves with you. Re.flex has a flexible frame and adjustable nose pad for a custom fit across activities. It also includes a free prescription insert.
The racer. You do speed work, intervals, tempo runs or race regularly. Re.glide is built for this. The frame locks in at pace, the strategic ventilation keeps lenses clear during hard efforts, and the darker VLT 13% Protector lens handles bright race-day conditions. If your races start early, add an Adaptor Clear lens for warm-up in low light.
The trail runner. Exposed ridgelines, wind, dust, shade under canopy, and sessions that last for hours. Re.silience gives you the widest coverage and the darkest Protector lens (VLT 11%) for open terrain. Pair it with an Adaptor Clear lens for runs that move between shade and sun. The prescription wearer. Three of the four frames (Re.flex, Re.glide and Re.silience) include a prescription insert frame for free. Re.balance does not. Among the three, choose based on your running style: Re.flex for flexibility, Re.glide for speed, Re.silience for trail and endurance. Founder, Re. (Re Your Run)
Tim built Re. after years of running in sunglasses that bounced, fogged, and ended up on his forehead. After discovering the UV damage that builds up without eye protection (even on cloudy days) and hearing the same frustrations from hundreds of other runners, he decided it was a problem worth fixing properly. With a background in Product across multiple industries, he approached it like any product problem: figure out what's broken, then build something that actually fixes it. He runs daily, co-founded Rose Bay Run Club, and Re. is his attempt to make one less thing that gets in the way of a good run.
